What are CricketTogether and TryEngineering Together?

CricketTogether and TryEngineering Together are eMentoring programs that use a safe online platform to connect carefully screen adult volunteers with students in grades 3–5 in under-resourced communities.

CricketTogether focuses on literacy, and TryEngineering Together focuses on engineering and STEM skills.

Volunteers mentor students 1:1 as they read compelling material and exchange email letters back and forth, sharing what they’ve learned and what’s going on in their lives.

Through these positive, caring connections, kids gain confidence in their ability to read deeply, write thoughtfully, and develop content knowledge. And along the way, they build a learning friendship and expand their view of the world!
